Katie grew up in a small town in California’s Central Valley and moved to San Diego after graduating high school to attend the University of San Diego, where she majored in International Politics and minored in English.
Like many San Diego transplants, Katie did not want to leave the beautiful city after college, and opted to stay local for law school, attending Thomas Jefferson School of Law where she was an editor on the Thomas Jefferson Law Review. During her time at Thomas Jefferson, Katie received numerous honors and awards, including multiple High-Grade Awards for having the highest grade in the course – one of which was for Community Property.
After graduating as her class’ valedictorian in December 2016 and passing the last three-day California Bar Exam on her first attempt, Katie started clerking for a solo-practitioner who specialized in family law. It was at this clerkship that Katie realized her passion for family law. Katie was immediately drawn to the ability to truly help make positive changes in a person’s life.
Katie has litigated several high-conflict dissolution, paternity, child custody, support, and domestic violence restraining order cases. She has also worked with clients to completely avoid the courtroom all together by reaching settlements outside of Court. Katie approaches each case with a unique strategy, individualized to her client’s needs and wishes.
In 2020, Katie was named a Rising Star in San Diego County by Super Lawyer’s, an honor of which Katie is extremely proud.
Outside of the law, Katie is a voracious reader and can often be found book shopping at her favorite local bookstores in Hillcrest. Katie also enjoys baking, going to concerts and comedy clubs, and hanging out with her three-legged cat named Mo.
